This paper is focused on the formal principles of black&white photography,through the interpretation of selected masterpieces by well-known photographers,and the analysis of the series of project "Gaze · Life",so as to present the actual practice of formal principles of black&white photography.This series of work started from documenting of the living people,matters and constructed landscapes.By looking through the lens,employment of compositional techniques and many other related deconstructive skills,to cast a new imagery interpretation on the normal images of daily life,in the end to reveal the very aesthetic significance of constructed life itself.
