Performances And Factors—Discussing The Evolution Of China's Documentary Photography Through Its Conception And Practice

First,this thesis define documentary photography through sorting world history of documentary photography and summarizing defines of documentary photography from western countries:documentary photography is to document and reappear.Photographers hide their attitudes towards ultimate questions about human and society with not personal feelings but humanism feelings in photos that reflect reality.The thesis divides China's documentary photography divides in five phases.Early time(1840-1919),before the founding of PRC(1919-1949),before Reform and Opening-up(1949-1976),after Reform and Opening-up(1976-2000),and contemporary era(after 2000).Discussing the feature of conception and practice of each phase in both context and practice sides.Understanding the evolution of China's documentary photography from purpose,aim and conception of documentary photography in specific phases with the order of the development of cognition of documentary photography.The thesis puts emphasis on contemporary history of China's documentary photography.Discussing reasons of evolution of China's documentary photography in four aspects---the change of time is the precondition of evolution,the influence of art theory modernize China's documentary photography,the change of scientific research method extends the edge and the evolution of hi-tech equipment and media varies the language and expression integrates with specific examples.Finally,pointing out the reality that China's documentary photography is now still following western countries'frame due to lack of systematic theory with example of"Ying Documentary Photography" Award and Finding solutions with example of Japanese Photographer Araki Nobuyoshi.
