Learning motivation is one of the most important factors that affect the success of a specific goal.In the process of English teaching,it is often found that some of the students' English learning motivation has decreased or even disappeared.At present,there are many researches on the learning demotivation in foreign countries,while in China,there are relatively few,and the researches on the English learning demotivation of Non-English majors in applied undergraduate college are much fewer.Therefore,this study aims to explore some factors in the demotivation of the Non-English Majors in applied undergraduate college.The author puts forward the corresponding solutions,after exploring the reasons for the demotivation of students' English learning.The author randomly selected 360 Non-English sophomores in Quanzhou Institute of Information Engineering as the research subjects and then used SPSS(20.0)to do statistics and make an analysis on the data.The author also randomly selected 12 demotivated students from the effective questionnaires and 6 relevant teachers were interviewed.Results show that the factors affecting Non-English Majors of Applied Undergraduate College students' demotivation of English learning can be divided into four main categories: Factors related to teachers(attitudes and expectations,professional quality,communication with students);Factors related to students themselves(learning difficulties,the attention degree of English learning,learning initiative and confidence,interests);Factors related to textbooks and Course(the difficulty of teaching materials and teaching focus);Factors related to learning environment(friends,English learning atmosphere of school).Based on the above results,the author tries to put forward the following suggestions on the factors that cause the demotivation of the students.About the factors of teacher-related and student-related,we can solve the problem from the following aspects: teachers should construct a pluralistic evaluation methods and teach students English learning strategies;teachers should innovate teaching methods and contents to improve students' interest in learning;teachers must pay attention to self-improvement.Secondly,according to the textbook and course design,we should design multi-level teaching materials and curriculum to meet the individual needs of students.Lastly,we should try to create a good English learning atmosphere.
