National culture is the precious lifeblood of a country.Since we followed the policy of reform and opening up,China's economic and social culture has been rapidly developed,and with the influence of the 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake the protection and inheritance of Qiang culture are just around the corner.The source text comes from articles of Hui Dexuan Culture and Arts Co.,Ltd.as well as that of the Internet.Stories related to Yu the Great and different aspects of the customs and worships of Qiang are included,each featuring briefness and plain in a comprehensible way.Strong ethnic colors and particular cultural images are expressed in Oral Literature of Qiang People,accordingly,great efforts should be made to compensate for the losses in order to help the target readers understand it and enjoy reading it.The content chosen intends to make contribution to the inheritance of the Qiang culture in an effective way,at the same time to advance the protection of cultural diversification.Translation of ethnic literature plays an important role in academic topics,which has been discussed by scholars,but further studies are still urgently needed.Based on the previous domestic and overseas research,detailed examples of Chinese-English translation on Oral Literature of Qiang People is analyzed under the guidance of translation compensation strategies.Translation difficulties caused by linguistic and cultural differences will be deeply analyzed and generalized from grammatical level and cultural level.Finally,the author concludes that compensation strategies are indispensable for the translation of ethnic literature.But the theoretical basis is not enough in explaining its relationship with grammatical losses and cultural defaults,further studies are still needed.The thesis topic chosen by the author intends to draw more attentions of scholars who are interested in texts of the same kind,at the same time sharing new views and making new breakthroughs.
