Classics of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)are written records of ancient medical theories and clinical activities in China, which are also the foundation of inheriting and developing of TCM culture.Classics of TCM involve the content of traditional Chinese philosophy, psychology, and many other aspects, with literary and scientific texts. Therefore,as one of the most famous cultural heritages of China, translation of these ancient classics into English is actually the basis and premise of the internationalization of TCM.In this study, the author discussed the translation strategies of classics of TCM,with examples from the book of A-B Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion. The translation report covers five parts: The first part mainly introduces the present status of C-E translation of classics of TCM,the significance of the research and the composition of this report. The second part describes the translation task, introducing the background of the source texts and analyzing the contents of the translation task. The third part introduces the translation process, including the preparatory work before translation, translation process and quality control. The fourth part is the analysis of the translation task, which mainly analyzes the features of classics of TCM and the cases that are translated on lexical level, syntactic level and textual level under the theories of Functional Equivalence theory. The last part reflects and summarizes the translation process.Through combining theory with practice, the report systematically summarizes the aspects that should be noted in the translation process of such literature,as well as the related translation strategies.Through the description of the task and the case analysis, the report draws the following conclusions: Firstly, full preparation before translation is extremely necessary as it is directly related to the quality of the target texts and the preparation of the report writing.Secondly, since there are a large amount of professional terms in the selected book, they need to be translated with accurate words and sentences to match the original meanings. Finally, choice of translation strategies is related to the fluency and readability of the target texts.
