There is a practical significance to analyze Chinese vocabulary acquisition level and elements influencing Chinese vocabulary acquisition for Chinese vocabulary learning being both a key and difficult points for international Chinese learners.The vocabulary level of international Chinese learners can be judged by vocabulary size and vocabulary depth.Vocabulary size level is mainly embodied in the amount of vocabulary,while vocabulary depth level is mainly embodied in how many word senses mastered by learners and how well learners master collocation rules.One of the factors that influence vocabulary acquisition is the using status of vocabulary strategies.By analyzing the relationships between learners'vocabulary size,vocabulary depth and vocabulary learning strategies,researcher in this study tries to find the related strategies that obviously influence vocabulary acquisition and gives suggestions to vocabulary learning based on them.Mainly based on Oxford's(1990)system of vocabulary classification and according to the specific feature of Chinese,this thesis designs a questionnaire on Chinese vocabulary learning strategies.Both of test papers on Chinese vocabulary size and Chinese vocabulary depth are been made here according to New Chinese Proficiency Test Syllabus(2009).After being pre-tested,the questionnaire is put into the experiment,collected and processed.Handling the data by Excel 2010 and making a descriptive analysis of the using status of vocabulary strategies by SPSS 21.0,Pearson correlation analysis of the using of vocabulary strategies and vocabulary size,vocabulary depth and a difference analysis of the high score group and low score group in vocabulary level,this thesis tries to find the learning strategies that obviously influence the learning effects of successful learners and less successful learners.By means of analyzing the data from the empirical investigation,this thesis shows the results as follows:(1)The advanced international Chinese learners' use frequencies of vocabulary learning strategies are all above the middle level,among which the mostly used one is social strategy.(2)There is an obviously negative correlation between meta-cognitive strategy and the grade of vocabulary size and a positive correlation between social strategy and the grade of vocabulary size.(3)Cognitive strategy,compensation strategy and social strategy are positively correlated with the grade of vocabulary depth.(4)The difference between vocabulary learning strategies respectively used by high and low score groups in vocabulary depth level is more obvious than in vocabulary size level.The thesis contains four chapters.Chapter One introduces the cause of the study,research background,research idea and research method.Chapter Two gives a discussion on respondents,the design of the research tool,and the statistical rules of the data.Chapter Three makes a descriptive analysis of the using status of vocabulary learning strategies,a correlation analysis of vocabulary level and learning strategies and a difference analysis of learning strategies respectively used by the high score group and low score group in vocabulary level Chapter Four comes up with specific suggestions aiming at teachers' teaching links and learners' learning activities based on the analysis results above.Moreover,the limitations and suggestions for improvement of the study are also presented in this chapter.
