The Research On The Construction Of "A Dao NP"

"A Dao NP" is a common expression in Chinese spoken language.Regarding it as our object of study,this paper makes a further analysis under the application of Three Planes Theory,and carries out a comparative study of "A Dao NP" and relational structures.The first chapter is the introduction,which answers the significance of this paper as well as the relevant studies in academic circles.In the meanwhile,the research methods and the sources of utterance materials are introduced.The second chapter analyses the syntactic functions and the structural features of"A Dao NP".In the previous section,it's always the predicative and attribute,or object and subject.In the second part,it sums up the limitations for what kinds of adjectives can be in "A Dao NP" form.And according to the difference on the grammar features and semantic features of "NP",it has been categorized into four groups,including the measure,the place,the time,and the thing.Then it backs to the bleaching degree and the functions of "Dao".This paper also discusses the negative forms and the antithetical construction.The third chapter is the semantic analysis of "A Dao NP".This part could be divided into three sections.The first is associated with the constructional meaning of"A Dao NP",and confirms it as "the speaker subjectively affirms that adjectives 'A'has high quantity of degree”.The second involves the semantic orientation about "A".The semantic of "A" directs at objective object in many cases.In other words,it could point to "NP" once in a while.The rest is about the semantic features of "Dao".The fourth chapter is the pragmatic analysis of "A Dao NP",which means subjective assessment or experience and subjective quantity.And then,we have stated the semantic focus of "A Dao NP" by counseling the method of semantic focus.The fifth chapter is the comparative study with variant and the relational structures of "A Dao NP".It is first step that we made a comparative analysis between"A Dao NP" and "A Dao Le NP".Then we had practiced kinds of similar discussions among the relational structures of "A Dao NP",such as "A Dao AP" and "A Dao VP".All in all,the difference between these relational structures is the semantic orientation of "A",the semantic relation of the variable,the negative forms and so forth.In the conclusion,we present the main views and suggestions for further studies.
