Since 1990s, modern Chinese adjectival research has become a hotspot problem on Chinese syntax. Syntax scholars concern the quantity of adjectives prevalently. The text on the premise that the adjective has quantity character, concretely analyses and discusses the concomitance of adjectives different degree.In this paper, it simply reviews the state of study which is done by the former scholars on the adjectival quantity and the concomitance of adjectival different degree .Because the study on two of these respects are more scattered and have not formed the system theory, thesis with "the concomitance of adjectival different degree "as subject, probed into the quantity of modern Chinese adjective and degree. And proceed from two respects of the qualitative adjectives and the descriptive adjectives, expound the fact of the concomitance of adjectival different degree. The main purpose is to open up a new visual angle to the research of degree of adjectives in modern Chinese.The paper's main body includes four chapters.Chapter One discusses present forms of modern Chinese adjective "quantity", which according to adjectival quantity scale is divided into three degrees, i.e., shortfall, constant, excess; and subdivides the degree of shortfall and excess on the basis of the sign mode of degree adverb on adjective quantity grade from aspects of subjectivity and objectivity; Finally it points that adjective's acceptance to degree adverb in Chinese is unbalance.Chapter Two and Chapter Three, on the ground of the two branch of adjective, i.e., the qualitative adjectives and the descriptive adjectives, studies the match of the six, i.e., zero, low, middle, high, extreme, excessive grade and their modification stances to adjective; concludes restrict factors and their typical present; then re-estimate quantity scale lead by the concomitance of adjective degree; especially illustrates some concomitance of different degree from the perspective of Chinese culture.Chapter Four summarizes briefly the whole paper, and puts forward some views with question of the quantity extent space of degree adverb and "quantity-add-quantity problem", i.e., degree adverb's modifying on the descriptive adjectives.
