The Influence From Culture Icons To Tourist Security:The Role Of Need For Closure

Tourism is a hot topic of in today's society,and academic researches are concerned about the security of tourism.There are many factors influencing the security of tourism destination,but less researches explore the destination culture and tourists' personality in the view of psychology.But the security of people in a foreign place is influenced by culture attachment(Hong,Fang,Yang,&Phua,2013).People's perception of the world are influenced by need for closure(Wang,2013),then it could affect people's security assessment about tourism destination,but the relevant researches is less.So,we focus on the tourism destination security and explore the interaction role of culture attachment and need for closure.Culture attachment paradigm and Affect Misattribution Procedure(AMP)were used to test culture attachment could influence on security of destination.Two experiments in study 1 explored that different culture icons primed different level of security;Through survey by questionnairs of Need For Closure and Tourism Destination Security to explore whether need for closure could predict security of destination(study 2);Manipulates the need for closure to explore its effect to the relationship of culture attachment and destination security.The main results of this study are as follows:(1)The destination security is influenced by culture attachment.The security level under the priming of Chinese culture icons is higher than under foreign icons;the security level under the priming of familiar culture icons is higher than under unfamiliar icons;(2)Two dimension of scale of Need For Closure,psychological closure dimension and decision dimension can significantly predict the security of destination(3)The need for closure mediate the relationship between culture attachment and security of destination;The security of higher NFC under the Chinese culture icons priming is lower than lower NFC.There is no significant difference between lower need for closure or familiar and unfamiliar icons under in a safty circumstance.
