Existential sentence is a special sentence pattern in Chinese, it is classified as one of several commonly used sentence patterns in Chinese on account of the high usage.With the development of the study of Chinese language,there are still many divergences about existential sentences because of the complexity of classification and usage. In this paper, the author chooses the existential sentence as the research point, and takes the Kenyan Chinese learners as the research object. Based on the existing documents of existential sentences,comparative study and the researches of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,seven existential sentences are determined for the need of this topic. Author analyzes the results of the survey and summarizes the acquisition order and error types of the existential sentences of Kenyan Chinese learners by using the methods of comparative analysis and so on. Besides, this paper discusses the causes of errors and teaching strategies.This article is divided into five parts: The first part is the introduction, including the background and significance of the topic, the background of the Kenya language, the current situation of Chinese learning in Kenya, and a summary of the research on existential sentences; the second part is the investigation and study of the existential sentences of Kenyan learners, explains the relevant matters and requirements of the questionnaire, and analyzes the common types of errors after data collection. The third part analyzes the causes of the error. The fourth part points out the problems existing in the teaching of existential sentences of Kenyan Chinese learners, and explores the teaching countermeasures and solutions. The sixth part is the conclusion.
