"Not just right experiences(NJRE)" is defined as the subjective sense that something isn't just as it should be,and an unsettled feeling because something in the individual or in the world around them is not right. It is a cognitive sensory phenomenon that closely related to obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD).This study tried to revise the Chinese vision of Not Just Right Experiences-Questionnaire-Revises(NJRE-Q-R)and find out the prevalence of NJRE in Chinese people. The relationships between NJRE severity,OCD without tic-disorders and specific OC symptoms were also be discussed.Besides, this study is first to explore the relationship between maladaptive perfectionism,NJRE and OC symptoms, and the moderating effect of obsessive belief in NJRE and OC symptoms.47 OCD patients and 236 university students were measured with the Chinese vision of NJRE-Q-R,Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory-Revised(OCI-R),Obsessive Beliefs Questionnaire(OBQ-44),Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale(Y-BOCS)and Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(FMPS).Results showed that the Chinese vision of NJRE-Q-R is of good reliability and validity, and the incidences of NJRE were 89.36%and 84.38%in OCD patients and university students respectively. The differences of the NJRE-Q-R Severity scores between clinical and non-clinical sample were significant. The correlation with NJRE and OCD severity without tic-disorders remained significant, and the correlation with NJRE and OC symptoms were significant, especially in checking, washing and obsessing.NJRE had an independent contribution to OCD symptoms, explaining 8.00%of total variance alone. The correlation between maladaptive perfectionism and NJRE were significant but weak.Besides, the students sample were divided into low and high obsessive beliefs subgroups. The correlation between NJRE and OC symptoms were higher in low obsessive beliefs subgroups than in high obsessive beliefs subgroups.Using the undergraduate sample, path analysis and Structural Equation Model(SEM)were applied to this constructs. The results with SEM indicate that the model of maladaptive perfectionism,NJRE and OC symptoms was established, but the moderating effect of obsessive belief on NJRE and OC symptoms were not well developed. In addition, age exert an influence on NJRE and OC symptoms respectively. And the correlation between obsessive belief and maladaptive perfectionism were significant. In consequence, the Chinese vision of NJRE-Q-R can be used in assessment of NJRE.NJRE is widespread among Chinese people and play an important role in the psychopathology of OCD.The study of NJRE and relevant mechanism may contribute to improve current theoretical models of OCD and promote identification, intervention, treatment and prognosis of OCD.
