The Emergence And Continuous Promotion Of Transformation And Development Of The Left-wing Literature On New Woodcut Movement

This paper focuses on combing the continuous promotion on the new woodcut movement from generation,rise to development by the six left-wing literary journals that appeared from 1928 to 1937,Benliu,Zhaohua,Beidou,Wenxue,Taibai,Guangming.The paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter describes the origin of the relation between Benliu and Zhaohua and the new woodcut movement,analyzes the purpose and influence of the Benliu and Zhaohua,the relation between Benliu and foreign print and illustration,the intensive,systematic introduction of foreign illustration art in Benliu and Zhaohua as well as their influence on the emergence of new woodcut movement.The second chapter discusses the journal Beidou and Wenxue as well as the emerging woodcut movement,analyzes the establishment of the left-wing artist alliance,the operation purpose and significance of Beidou and Wenxue and the establishment of propaganda positions of new woodcut movement,as well as the promotion on the new woodcut movement by eidou and Wenxue by the method of selectively introducing foreign printmakers and works and systematically introducing the basic knowledge and techniques of printmaking.The third chapter discusses Taibai and Gangming as well as the development of new woodcut movement and analyzes the operation purpose and influence of Taibai and Guangming,the two journals and strengthening of the propaganda position of the new woodcut movement,as well as the promotion on the new woodcut movement by Taibai and Guangming by the method of selectively introducing foreign printmakers and works and systematically introducing the basic knowledge and techniques of printmaking.The fourth chapter discusses Guangming and makes a summary of the new woodcut movement,analyzes Lu Xun' s contribution to the development of the new woodcut movement and reaffirms Lu Xun' s position in woodcut creation.
