Research On The Periodic History Research Of Chinese Ancient Music From 1978-2000

The Research on music periodic history has been gradually paid more attention in recent years.Differentiated from the general music history research,the periodic history research divides the long Chinese music history into comparatively short periods of time so that researchers could recognize some problems ignored once.The research on music periodic history which plays a vital role in the development of Chinese music historiography would make researchers more focus on the collection and organization of the historical materials and choose more elaborate and diversified research objects,which could broaden the research scope of the Chinese music historiography and lead it onto a more sophisticated road.The main research objects of the paper are monographs and journal papers of Chinese ancient music periodic history research from the year of 1978-2000.The present author organizes and analyzes the research achievements of the mentioned period by using methods such as the literature survey and statistical analysis,and then outlines the development characteristics and tendency of the research on the Chinese ancient music periodic history and summarizes the research work done in the period to further discuss the research values and significances for the Chinese music historiography development.This paper consists of four chapters:the first is introduction;the second is the organization of research achievements of the Chinese ancient music periodic history from 1978 to 2000 and insightful discussions of the research monographs published during the above period;the third is the organization of the research journal papers of the period.The author has chosen 11 representative music journals,classified and summarized the research papers published on these journals about Chinese ancient music periodic history research through the way of combination of forms and writings;the last is the outline and conclusion of the overall situation of the Chinese ancient music periodic history research from 1978 to 2000.
