On Causal Theory Of Mill

The problem of causality has always been an important issue in the history of western philosophy.In the theoretical exploration of this issue,Mill is the key figure we have to mention.In his proposed of Mill's five methods in searching of causal connections,until today still with our everyday reasoning and scientific experiments are closely related,and have a very important role.Since the great philosopher Aristotle of ancient Greece,‘the theory of four factors',it is clear that the true scientific knowledge is about finding the reason and the explanation of the reason.Over the past two thousand years,each time the logician,philosopher,scientist,and even linguists have dedicated our wisdom and talent for causal theory research,which makes the causal theory research can be continuously.With the deepening of the research,the theory of causal theory is becoming more and more sophisticated.But we also know that the answer to the problem of philosophy and research will always be restricted and influenced by the special historical and cultural conditions and the environment,the Mill's causal theory,it was after Hume's questioning and inductive logic suffered a heavy blow,many scholars have expressed doubts of inductive logic,in such a age,he determined his own ideas,the inductive logic is an important logic,and make a comeback.The Mill five methods,is mainly based on Bacon's rule induction method,including: the method of difference,the method of agreement,and differences in usage(this method is less used in now),the method of concomitant variations,and the method of residues.These five methods are referred to as a way to explore the cause and effect relationship.Mill thinks that all things must be based on causality,and that everything happens for a reason.We can see from the history of Philosophy in his understanding about causality is one kind of experience,and the understanding of Hume is similar,but he added the causality of problemin unconditional,and this restriction leads to very serious consequences,that is: the causality vector from phenomena or events,become the event entity and its attributes and properties;the causal relationship between the order of time nor necessary conditions;also this range belongs to narrow,vector causality is composed of two events.Mill thinks that causation is the law of universal causality,which is empirical theory,such as,Mill must be put forward by the law of universal causality is the causal relationship between the core of rational explanations.But the method of Mill use is,by simple enumeration method inductive method in the law of universal causality on the basis of defense,but the defense is not successful,because of the simple enumeration method is a simple induction card,the conclusions are not strict.Kant's transcendental is causality.Although logically in inclination on the relationship between probability theory and inductive understanding is limited to understand simple,but he made up logic and causal theory achievement no doubt,we should give him objective evaluation.
