A Study On The Rural Female Model Of Linfen County In 1950s

After the founding of the People's Republic of China,the central government had implemented practice of the model selection,and a number of exemplary people had sprung up all over the country.They were not only the pattern of ordinary people,but also the link and bridge between the government and the masses.They played an important role in the economic recovery and social development.Shanxi provincial government had also held a number of model selection meeting,and commended a large number of models,to give them the honorary title of model workers,activists,including many rural women model.In this paper,through the use of archival materials,local books and data of field survey,this paper introduces and summaries the production,selection,life of rural female model,and so on.In the first chapter,the author analyzes the reasons of the rural female model from four aspects,such as laws and regulations,local economic demand,social publicity and model workers' policy.They are the external force of female model that promulgation and implementation of laws and regulations,the propaganda of female heroes' deeds and the institutionalization of model selection after the founding of the central government.The demand of labor for the development of agricultural economy in Linfen county is the fundamental factor of female model.The second chapter analyzes the criteria and selection work about model in 1950 s,thinks the female model were produced in the process of interaction between the government and the masses.Production performance,personal qualities and organizational ability are the main standards of model selection.At the same time,it is also a special condition for the female model to fight against the feudal custom.In the third chapter,the author summarizes the characteristics of the female model in Linfen County in 1950 s,and summarizes the characteristics of the female model,such as the time of honor,the position,political and family background.We can know that the female model were born in poverty,when they were childhood,they had participated in labor,and they were elected to the model because of the positive response to the Communist Party's policy.The fourth chapter introduces the practice of collective labor,social participation,life of marriage and family.In the collective labor and social activities,they used and promotedadvanced planting technology,responded to the party's policy,guided the masses to actively to copy with local disasters.Based on the analysis of their marriage and family life,the author thinks that marriage choice of the female model had the coexistence of tradition and modernity,and the female model had the mutual supportive and cooperative relationship with husband and mother-in-law in 1950 s.The fifth chapter summarizes the characteristics of rural female model and the social impact on Linfen county.They have remarkable characteristics in social practice and family life,One is that they have admirable qualities,such as,unite the masses,help others,"as an understanding wife and loving mother",The other one is that they often attend the meeting,participate in various social affairs.They played a positive role in changing the traditional view of contempting for female labor and promoting the economic construction of Linfen county through the practice of agricultural production and social activities.Through the above research,this paper argues that the rural female model obtain the real human dignity through labor practice,they develop self-confidence and ability in the process of participating in the labor practice,experience the joy of labor,but the physical pain is the most profound memory of the female model.
