Analysis And Application Of Cavity Rhyme Techniques In The "Dragon Boat"

The existence and application of tune and rhyme can be found in various aspects of cultureand art in China, like ancient poetry, traditional music, and drama, etc. The Chinese folk music thusdeveloped and formed a tune and rhyme skill with unique characteristic.The portamento skills' exterior expression includes the motion of pushing, pulling, grabbing,noting by the left hand. Most of the performing of Chinese string instruments can be described as "Right hand controlling the keynote, left hand controlling the rhythm, and supplement the sound byrhythm". The portamento skills refers to the application of "Stirring, kneading, patting, anddrawing" as to polish the tone during the performance, and also refers to a second recreation basedon their own understanding and expression method.This article analyzed and argued the importance of portamento skills in Pipa performance, andconducted analysis and comparison among three existed versions of "dragon-boat", and analyzedthe musical elements in "Dragon-boat" taking Zhang Buchan's version as the study object. In theend, the article studied the portamento, rhyme features combining with the performance skills ofPipa then explain them based on the spectral cases.As one of the most popular traditional Pipa music, "Dragon-boat" owns a high art andperformance value, therefore, the writer take "Dragon-boat" as one of the personal concert pieces,and analyzed the performance skills as to benefit the improvement of a music piece with higherquality and higher level.
