The Translation Report Of The Classical History And Culture Of Hejin(Extracts)

Shanxi is a province with abundant folk culture.Hejin City is a southern city of Shanxi Province,with profound intangible cultural resources and profound cultural heritage.However,there are few English versions about the Hejin folk customs,so the skills of Hejin folk customs have been scarcely discussed.The related research is urgently necessary.Therefore,the author selects the book Classical History and Culture of Hejin to carry her translation practice aiming to promote the regional folk culture,and allow people to further understand the local ethnic,folk custom and cultural characteristics of Hejin.The kind of activity can help to spread the folk art,but also show Hejin to the outside world from the perspective of folklore culture which has important practical significance to the local people.The translation report is mainly composed of four parts: the description of translation task,description of translation process,the case study,and the conclusions of the translation task.In the report,according to the content and characteristics of the text,under the guidance of the foreignization strategy and domestication strategy in the translation of Hejin folk customs,the author mainly adopts transliteration plus annotation,literal translation,literal translation plus annotation and free transliteration plus.Through the analyses of specific translation cases,the author tries to solve the problems that encountered in the translation of folklore culture,and explore some effective translation strategies and methods for translating Chinese folk customs.
