The Philosophical Implications Of Mindreading

A recurring problem in the philosophy of mind is how we understand ourselves and others,that is,how we identify the feelings and thoughts of ourselves and others.The most obvious social feature of mankind is to read the minds of others,in other words,people on their own and other people's mental state attribution.The characterization of others' mental state,which is so-called mind reading,is process of conceptualization of others' mental activity,and also is the foundation of social creation.From people's daily behavior to the political and economic activities,and even to the sense of morality,they are all inseparable from the mind,but then how to accomplish reading the mind,the philosophers haves been debated.In recent years,the development of neuroscience has promoted the answer to the theory of reading theory.The first part of this article explains the concept of "mental state",and combs the epistemological origin of the mind.On this basis,it contrasts with several realization mechanisms of the mind,and points out that the path of the simulation theory is a kind of more ideal,and explanatory mechanism to achieve,then describes the history of the development of simulation theory and the theories of simulation,and points out the difference between the processes of each theory.The second part of this article focuses on the basic content,core characteristics,possible process and presentation of the simulation theory.Firstly,is expounds the realization mechanism and core characteristics of the simulation theory,and explains the simulation theory comprehensively at the theoretical level.Secondly,is illustrates the possible process of the simulation theory by the construction and explanation of the four models.Which makes the operation of the simulation theory more clear;Finally,it analyses the low-level mind reading,high-level mind reading,which gives an empirical interpretation of the simulation theory in mind reading.The third part of the article first explores the application of simulation theory in other fields,and tries to explain the theory of simulation in a new way from the perspective of synthesis.The theory of simulation introduces the research method of modern neuroscience,and transforms the traditional cognitive model of his mind,and provides a better research strategy for solving the problem of mind.It has important philosophical and theoretical value.
