The Problem Of Other Minds And Dual Process Theories

In a broad sense,how we might know if others have a mind like mine is collectively referred to as "The problem of other minds".At present,there are two kinds of mainstream answers,namely theoretical theory and simulation theory.Theoretical theory holds that our acquisition of knowledge of his heart is realized through the application of popular psychology,which links various psychological concepts and behavioral expressions with certain causal rules.It is believed that when we read the mind,it is through the reasoning of psychological behavior that we know the psychological state of others.The theory of simulation opposes mental reading as a mechanism of reasoning,because the general cognition is similar in terms of psychological state and behavior,so we only rely on the self-psychological state of the simulation,it is enough to achieve the acquisition of his heart knowledge.However,when dealing with the problem of his heart,both have their own insuperable defects,whether it is the source and formation of the psychological theory of theory,or whether the analogical reasoning of simulation involves the question of psychological theory,cannot be very good through the strength of their respective theories to respond to such challenges.This shows that in solving the problem of his heart,the preset single approach can no longer provide more gain to the discussion of the problem,so the author tries to put forward a new way of coexistence to promote the solution of his heart problems,and this idea is also supported by the research results of cognitive science.The debate between theory and simulation for a long time has led us to assume that our mental reading activities may be dominated by two completely different mechanisms of reading the mind.When we put the part of the simulation theory involving analogical reasoning into the category of theoretical reasoning,we can completely distinguish two different models of the reading mechanism,that is,direct his heart perception and indirect theoretical reasoning.The direct perceptual reading mechanism is realized by the simulation of the ascending procedure,which is a kind of perceptual activity which does not involve the psychological theory,which can make us directly perceive the psychological state of others without having to draw on the theoretical reasoning.This view has been further supported by the discovery of mirrored neurons in humans.This shows that the presupposition that can only be known through theoretical reasoning in the past is not valid.However,the illusion phenomenon,which often occurs in human perceptual activities,still threatens the direct perception of his knowledge,so the author will refute the Illusion argument in the process of direct perception of his mind by invoking the cognitive position of the theory of extraction.This shows that the existence of delusional phenomenon does not affect the human ability to acquire his knowledge through perception in the real situation.Then the author will introduce the research results of cognitive science,double process theory,to support the idea of the coexistence of double reading style.The direct perception of his heart is the operation of System 1,while the indirect theoretical reasoning is the call of System 2.In most cases,just calling system 1 is enough to complete the mind reading task,and System 2 will only be called when faced with complex read-reader scenarios.This shows that when we talk about the basic operating mechanism of the human cognitive system depicted in the dual-process theory,we can get more information than the previous discussion under the presupposition of a single approach.Finally,the author will respond to the common questions about the coexistence approach of the problem of his heart,so as to explain why the two distinctions of the mind-reading mechanism are reasonable,and why the direct perceptual reading mechanism is not the hack of the problem of his heart,and why the coexistence approach under the two-process theory picture does not violate the Occam razor principle.And why it won't fall into the predicament of dualism.
