As the symbol of subject culture before Han Dynasty,Chinese bronze reflects many aspects of social life and has important historical value,artistic value and scientific value.The shape and ornamentation of Bronze are inextricably linked with pottery and jade.the craftsmanship of bronze,the class attribute and aesthetic concepts of the rulers and the changes of social overall mental outlook contribute to the evolution and replacement of bronze.the evolution of bronze style of ancient architectural elements means the evolution of main architectural style of their own times.the type and number of etiquette of bronze of Shang and Zhou are at most and the decoration of it contains the mysterious and majestic dominant social significance.Along with the liberation of Chinese thought and the popularity of decorative theme of social life,the decoration of terraced and pavilion building appears with the complex plot of the story from Spring and Autumn and the Warring States to the Qin and Han Dynasties.Besides,owing to the invention of the lost wax method,the shape is also become rich and colorful.The analysis of the architectural elements from the bronze wares not only allows people to understand the worship of thought,but also provides a direct basis for people to understand the architectural form at that times.Chinese ancient buildings leaves no entity before Tang Dynasty.We understand the early architectural form can only be recognized from the extant literature,archaeological ruins and relics.From the Shang Dynasty.With complex and large-scale development of the tomb building,funerary objects also gradually increased.Although to the variation of different levels,it can basically and fully reflect the social features.As the most important funerary objects---bronze,according to the showing of excavated architectural sites,the wooden frame structure begins to become main form in the late Xia Dynasty and the four slopes of the roofand pillars arranged more orderly in the sites emerges from Shang Dynasty.Therefore,as a microcosm of the times,ancient tombs and funerary object serves as an approach to our understanding of the developing building structure of that times.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter briefly introduces the reasons and significance of the topic;the review of the research;the content and methods of the research.In the second chapter,based on the archaeological excavation report,describes the architectural model and building elements of the unearthed ancient bronzes in the Xia,Shang and Zhou dynasties,the spring and Autumn period,the Warring States period and the Qin and Han Dynasties.The third chapter classify structure and category contained in the bronzes from the platform,body,roof and layout.In the fourth chapter,combining with the archaeological achievements of the relics,the author explores the overall building style in the bronzes and the mutual relationship between their own category of building components and the design concept of the architectural plan.The fifth chapter summarizes the developing rules of Chinese architecture in the bronzes and design concepts.
