Chinese writing ability is one of the basic and essential abilities for foreign students to study Chinese,in the process of modern Chinese teaching as a foreign language,how to improve students' writing skill is an important research direction where teachers pour extensive effort and hardwork,and therefore there has been quite a few significant progress in terms of the research on writing teaching.However,after doing some research on existing documents,I found that the teaching method regarding to writing teaching are roughly the same,there is no new breakthrough or entry point.As the progress of the society,the study of Chinese and language knowledge transmission is no longer just limited to books,the critical thinking ability among students themselves plays an important role in the process of language learning,it is thus the new entry point of how to improve the Chinese writing skill of foreign students.The author thinks that,from the perspective of the psychological process of writing,writing is a complicated process of thinking,it is about expressing the thought in the form of written text.That is,in the process of writing,we must first learn to think and then to express.Considering this,we can imagine,in the process of Chinese writing,the critical thinking ability has a certain effect on the output of writing.Therefore,we can take it as a new entry point to find a suitable way to improve students' writing skill.Based on the analysis above,the author made an actual survey on students' writing ability and critical thinking ability and made an empirical study on writing exercise based on critical thinking.In the process of writing,the author expresses critical thinking by using the metaphor which is a specific form of modern Chinese and adopts critical thinking to enrich and improve students' writing skill.The empirical study shows that applying the use of critical thinking ability in teaching and exercising on a long-term basis has a pertinent effect on improving students' Chinese writing ability.
