English writing,to some extent,as one of the four skills of listening,speaking,reading and writing,naturally becomes the focus of English teaching.At the same time,as an important output skill,English writing requires students to use written expression to convey information and express emotions,so it is also a difficult point in English teaching.The high school English curriculum standard clearly proposes to cultivate the core quality of subjects,so that students can achieve correct values,personality and key abilities.The high school English course emphasizes the comprehensive training of students' language ability,cultural consciousness,thinking quality and learning ability(Mnistry of Education,2017),while the thinking quality reflects the mental characteristics of English discipline quality.In addition to the achievements in writing,this paper focuses on the process of thinking in English writing,such as understanding the topic,developing the statement,organizing a coherent discourse and choosing the right words for writing,so as to combine critical thinking with the process of English writing.This thesis analyzes the senior high school students' English writing process based on critical thinking.And this paper explores the relationship between critical thinking ability and English writing process,analyzes students' critical thinking from four aspects: examination,conception,layout and description,aiming at improving English writing teaching methods,arousing attention to critical thinking and improving students' writing level.This study aims to answer the following research questions:First,is there any gender difference in critical thinking?Second,what is the correlation between critical thinking and Senior High School Students' English writing processes?Third,what is the correlation between critical thinking and Senior High School Students' English writing scores?According to the statistical analysis of the questionnaire survey data on the critical thinking dispositions and critical thinking skills,combining students' interviews and writing text analysis,the average score of the speculative personality tendency of high school students is 255.362 >210,so they have positive speculative personality tendency as a whole.In addition,according to the independent sample test of each dimension,there is no difference in the overall critical thinking between boys and girls.However,it can be seen that there are certain differences between boys and girls in each dimension of their critical thinking ability,and girls' critical personality tendency is more positive on the whole(264.73 >245.90),girls' performance in the three dimensions of open-mindedness,inquisitiveness and cognitive maturity is significantly higher than boys',which roughly conforms to the thinking development characteristics of high school students.Based on the interview results,the author makes a detailed analysis of the reasons for the current situation.Through Pearson correlation analysis,there is a positive relationship among critical thinking dispositions,critical thinking skills and English writing achievement.In terms of correlation,there was a low correlation between critical thinking skills and English writing achievement(r=0.233,p?0.05).There was a medium correlation between critical thinking skills and English writing achievement(r=0.791,p?0.05).What is more,in terms of the process of English writing,there was a low correlation between critical thinking skills and English writing process;there was a medium correlation between critical thinking dispositions and English writing process.The data analysis is also proved and supplemented by the interview and writing text analysis of students.This study tries to arouse the attention to the quality of thinking by investigating the critical thinking of high school students,so as to improve the core quality of the discipline.On the basis of investigating the critical thinking of high school students,this paper combines it with English writing in an attempt to enrich the thinking level of high school English writing.Hope to be able to cause the attention of high school English teacher and high school students,related contents of critical thinking in English teaching,cultivating students' thinking quality in daily learning,for students to better adapt to the future world muti-polarization,economic globalization and social diversification.
