The Research On The Influence Of Machiavelliism,Empathy And Helping Consequences On Interpersonal Apathy

The economic develops rapidly in the period of social transformation,but the moral has emerged a relatively lagging phenomenon,and a typical moral problem is interpersonal apathy,interpersonal apathy refers to the individual in interpersonal communication out of distrust of others and should be taken as an attitude where people are unwilling to help others in need.In recent years,interpersonal apathy events often occur,and caused the wide attention from all sectors of society,researchers have also attached great importance to this issue.Some studies have shown that the high Machiavelvian individual will have lower empathy and more interpersonal apathy.But at present,there is a question about whether they can influence their interpersonal indifference by influencing the empathy of Machiavelliists,and whether the different consequences of helping people have influence on Machiavelli's interpersonal apapthy,these aspects need further exploration.This study mainly explores the influence of interpersonal apathy from three aspects: Machiavelli's theory,empathy,and different consequences.In this study,the methods of literature analysis,questionnaire survey,and situational experiment are used to explore the influencing factors of interpersonal apathy among 724 college students in Yunnan Normal University in Yunnan Province.There are three specific studies,the study 1 explores the relationship between Machiavellianism,trait empathy and interpersonal apathy,the study 2explores the relationship between Machiavelliism,state empathy and interpersonal apathy,and the study 3 explores the relationship between Machiavelliism,the different helpers' consequences and interpersonal apathy.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)There are significant differences in gender between Machiavelli doctrine and trait empathy.(2)Compared with the low Machiavelli individuals,the high Machiavelli will has lower trait empathy and more interpersonal apathy.(3)There is a significant correlation between Machiavellianism,trait empathy and interpersonal apathy.(4)Machiavellianism can positively predict interpersonal apathy,and trait empathy can negative predict interpersonal apathy.(5)Trait empathy plays a moderating role in the relationship between Machiavellianism and interpersonal apathy.(6)In the empathy-induced group,the state empathy of the low Machiavelliian individuals will be significantly improved and the interpersonal apathy be significantly reduced.(7)Compared to help others without reward consequences,the interpersonal apathy of high machiavellianism individual significantly will reduce in a spiritual incentive and material incentive conditions.
