Analysis And Research Of Funeral Culture In Wangzang In Diebu Tibetan Area

Funeral culture is a kind of culture of death.Funeral process is the rites of passage of human life.It is not only a social activity but also a cultural activity.The paper tries to reveal the values,religious view and outlook on life of the people who live in Wangzang region,the Tibetan communities of Diebu county of Gannan autonomous prefecture in Gansu province,using the methods of documentary,in-depth interview,participant observation and fieldwork and so on.And the paper tries to reveal the view of life and death formed for thousands of years and the special behavior patterns by investigating the ceremony of funeral process,sacrifice,beliefs and customs and the particular cultural terms,and the social culture form of this region reflected in the process.Funeral culture is a special social and cultural ceremony.By investigating and analyzing the cultural items it presents and its cultural function,the paper emphasis on discussing the irreplaceable role of funeral ceremony during the formation of individual outlook on life,social integration process,interpersonal communication and cultural heritage,with the Tibetan or Tibetology as the point of penetration.To understand the existence form of ceremony consequently from the view of funeral ceremony can interpret the ideological world and the behavior patterns of Tibetan-inhabited area.Customs' changes of funeral are illustrated and the function of each step is analyzed by understanding the funeral ceremony deeply,especially concerning the life experience of the participants of the funeral ceremony.
