Study On The Present Situation And Characteristics Of Lhoba Traditional Music

As one of the numerous minorities in China,Lhoba not only has rich and colorful natural resources,but also has outstanding traditional culture.In the long process of historical development,Lhoba gradually formed its unique national language,national dress,customs,religious beliefs,customs and taboos and lifestyle.Its traditional folk music and dance contains long historical culture of Lhoba particularly.Lhoba is mainly distributed in the vast Loyu area in the southeastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region.Due to historical reasons,only a small part of Lhoba people live in Tibet,China,including Millin County,Chayu County,Medog County,Lang County in Nyingchi City,and Lhünzê County in Shannan Area.This paper takes the Lhoba music of Damu Lhoba nationality township of Nyingchi City as the research object,and makes deep analysis and research of its traditional cultural customs,classification,performance form,musical characteristics and inheritance of traditional folk music from the perspective of folklore and ethnomusicology.Discussions are made from four aspects:In the first part,it sorts out the origin and significance of the topic,the research status,the research ideas and the research methods.In the second part,the author summarizes the origin,ecological environment,cultural environment(Lhoba language,Lhoba costume,Lhoba belief)and folk activities of Lhoba,to lay a foundation for the discussions about the present situation and characteristics of Lhoba traditional folk music.In the third part,it firstly makes meticulous description of Lhoba music in the history of Damu countryside which is spread until now;secondly,it makes comparison and analysis of the musics of Lhoba and other neighboring nationalities,to summarize the cultural integration between Lhoba and neighboring nationalities;and then it makes in-depth analysis of the music form,music content,performance forms,performance occasions,social functions and other aspects combined with the materials about Lhoba dance,folk songs,instrumental music obtained through field survey;finally,it makes systematic analysis of the survival and inheritance of the existing music of Lhoba in Damu countryside.In the fourth part,it analyzes the influence of culture on a nationality,especially the traditional culture of relatively small population,and puts forward relevant constructive countermeasures and scholars thinking on the conservation of the traditional music of Lhoba.
