Paramartha was the founder of the East Asian Yog?c?ra,considered as a branch of the Consciousness-only philosophy,of China,and also one of the four most important translators of the history of Chinese Buddhism.Among others,Mah?y?nasamgraha is his most important translation work,which has left the biggest influence on the certain research area.As the essencial of the branch,Paramartha's translation version has many differences from any other versiones,specially the Xuanzang's.Basically,Mah?y?nasamgraha is the represent work of the old Consciousness-only philosophy,and the origen of the Chinese branch.An investigation based on this translation version,was not just a bibliografic analysis,but also a trace of the ideology of the Chinese Buddhism.It means a lot for an organization of the Chinese Consciousness-only philosophy history,and for a declaration of the contrasts and conflicts between branches of the same ideology.The Thesis has been seperated in six parts to analyse the Mah?y?nasamgraha: the first one shows the investigated backgroud and how actual investigationes have gone,for searching the investigation problemas of the contemprary study and finding the focus of this work.The second part focuses on the historical and social-cutural contexto of this traslation version,which reveals its characteristics and the importance that the Mah?y?nasamgraha has for the Chinese Consciousness-only philosophy.The third part makes comparisons between different translation versions.The forth,based on the Amala-vij??na,analyses some of the essencial thoughts of the Paramartha's translation version.The fifth parts focuses lots on the influences of the opus on the Chinese Buddhism.And,the last one offers an conclusion and discussion of the work.Within this colaboration work,the objective of the thesis is complete the relative investigation in the area.
