Discussion On The Application Of Consciousness-only Philosophy In Liang Shuming’s Culture Philosophy

Liang Shuming is a renowned philosophier in modern times. His famouswork 《culture and philosophy of the East and west》 studied cultureproblem, and bring far-reaching influence. He actually used "the seventhconsciousness" theory and "the three measures" epistemological methodsand "smokin’g-practice theory in Consciousness-only school and so on. Itbecomes the representative of application consciousness-only philosophyin modern times. He proposed his own views in cultural debate at that time,and help our countrymen get back national self-confidence. And hisapplication of consciousness-only theory in cultural philosophy causedpositive and negative response at that time. Certainly, there are stillsome problems in his cultural philosophy, but after all, it is a greatexploration, it reflected his theoretical depth, and still have a profoundsignificance now. In this paper, I will discuss how he useconsciousness-only philosophy in his cultural philosophy.
