As one of the complicated language elements in contemporary Chinese language, in respect of the functions, JiuShi contains five categories(twenty –eight sub categories), Judgment-Strengthen, Function-Relation, Function-Limitation, Function-Modality and Discourse Marker respectively.The study is mainly based on Modern Chinese Corpus System for Native Chinese Speakers & 12 recording phonetic transfer texts of Speak the Slain Truth of CCTV and the Chinese Inter-language Corpus for Foreign Learners & HSK Dynamic and Circulating Chinese Corpus for Foreign Learners, and all of the corpora are developed by Beijing Language and Culture University. Applying for the Categorization Theory of Cognitive Linguistics and Contrastive Inter-language Analysis, and drawing on the research results of grammaticalization, the present study tries to reconstruct the relations of functions of JiuShi, and then based on the conclusion above, the study will focus on the L2 acquisition, which will also test the Radial Category Structure reconstructed. The conclusions of our study:(1) the functions of Jiu-Shi is a continuum with reference to the function of Strengthen the Judgment. That is to say, it is a typical Radial Category Structure with the prototype of Judgment-Strengthen function and connection degree between each function of JiuShi and the prototype is different.(2) L2 acquisition of each function is different. To be more specific, the prototype function is most easily acquired, and then the functions which are close to the prototype, and the functions which are not close to the prototype are not easily acquired by overseas students.(3) acquisition effect is different according to the Chinese language proficiency of overseas students, and with the improvement of which the acquisition effect gets better.(4) native language background has the significant impact on acquisition of the functions of JiuShi.(5) according to the findings of the study, we believe that teaching of the functions of JiuShi should be step by step on the basis of the typicalness and frequency of it, and we should take the native language background into consideration in the preset language element teaching.
