A Study On The Effects Of Neuroticism On Attentional Blink In Negative Emotional Faces

Purpose:This research take RSVP paradigm,taking T1 and T2 as negative facial expressions respectively.This research refers to inspect the difference about the attentional blink in time dimensions,which comes from results of neurotic individuals to negative facial expressions.Subjects: Thirty people controlled by E elements in accordance to text of junior Eysenck personality inventory,among which can be divided into two groups of high and low neuroticism in line with neuroticism scores they acquired.Methods: Experiment one conducted RSVP dual task paradigm and discussed the characteristics of attentional blink with high and low peuroticism when T1 was in various emotional types.Experiment two conducted RSVP dual task paradigm and discussed that when T2 was in various emotional types,the intentional capture of emotional stimuli with high and low neuroticism respectively under the circumstance lack of resources.Results: Experiment one found that from the statistic analysis about the task tot T1,the emotional state represents F(1,28)=41.25,p<0.01 which represents the negative facial expressions can hinder the gender identification about testers.From the statistic analysis about the task to T2,the emotional state shows F(1,28)=43.25,p<0.01 which illustrates that T1 negative expressions are more difficult to identify than T2 comparing with neutral faces.The main effect of high and low neuroticism are effective.F(l,28)=6.11,p<0.05 shows that accuracy of high neuroticism to T2 is lower than low neuroticism.Remarkable effect was came up three-order interactions.F(1,28)=8.03,p<0.01 further developed that as for high neuroticism,neutral facial(p<0.01)owned better correct reaction rate than T1 and T2 negative facial expressions subjects,whether in short or long extent.Experimental two represented the obvious effect of main emotional effect.F(1,27)=24.17,p< 0.01 shows that T2 possessed obvious antagonistic effect of attentional blink comparing with T2 negative facial expressions.Main effect of high and low neuroticism are obvious.F(1,27)=5.13,p<0.05 illustrated that accuracy high neuroticism respond to T2 are higher than low neuroticism.Conclusion:1.T1 negative facial expressions obviously increase the attentional blink effect of high neuroticism subjects.The accuracy of high neuroticism subjects to identity T2 are comprehensively lower than low neuroticism subjects.2.T2 negative facial expression vividly represent the attentional blink anatagonistic effect of high neuroticism subjects.Due to the relief difficulty about the negative information to high neuroticism subjects,it is the main reason to generate internal mechanism about attentional blink.
