This thesis, based on my translation practice — C-E translation of Sha Ren Hui Yi(Memories of Murder),refers to Liu Miqing's Translation Aesthetics to address such problems as I encountered in the translation process: inadequate interpretation of characters' language, disorderly description of characters' actions(or the scene),information redundancy, inadequate representation of the linguistic features of dialogues, and lack of rhythm in scene descriptions. In fact, these translation problems can be all attributed to the failure in grasping and representing the linguistic features of drama, such as being colloquial, concise, rhythmical, gestural and personalized. The essential qualities of drama, readability and performability, are thus not fully represented in the translation. However, the aesthetic information contained in the linguistic features of this dramatic text makes the perspective of Liu's Translation Aesthetics a possibility.According to the theory in question, translation has two essential qualities — scientific and artistic attributes. With this in mind, this thesis puts forward a couple of concrete translation techniques at the semantic, syntactic and stylistic levels, such as modulation, reformulation, omission and imitation,to maximally preserve and reproduce the aesthetic information in Sha Ren Hui Yi(Memories of Murder)and facilitate the representation of drama's readability and performability in the translated text.
