Yan Yu’s Poem Theory of Canglangrelates to the fundamental problem of poetry, that isthe essence of poetry,in which "Enlightenment" represents the fundamental view of poetry of Yan Yu,thus "Enlightenment" is regarded as the core theory of Poem Theory of Canglang. This paper, based on the previous research materials, adopts some new methods to understand the aesthetic connotation and aesthetic value of "Enlightenment" which once made a sensation and is also the key object of the poetry theory research. The introduction part, combined with the life of Yan Yu,talks about his character and poetic style. His poetic theory work Poem Theory of Canglang had been praised, which laid his position in the history of Chinese aesthetics.Later, more and more people began to study and research on the Poem Theory of Canglang. In China, more attention was paid to this work by modern scholars in last century, and our country had set off three research waves of Yan Yu’s poetic, then related writings and essays were published.Although the study of the aesthetic connotation of "Enlightenment" was relatively few, there are still different views based on Guo Shaoyu,Qian Zhongshu and Zhou Lixiang. The introduction part gives some representative views of them, puts forward some problems, and proposes new research methods and ideas for these problems. The first chapter of this thesis is intended to explore the ideological background of "Enlightenment",which seeks its root from the historical culture and the text of Poem Theory of Canglang. From the point of history and culture view, first of all,"Enlightenment" has its rich foundation of meaning and development process.Secondly, the occurrence of "Enlightenment" can be said to be the result of inter-cultural,which is influenced by the synthetic effects of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoismwith a clear cultural integration mark and its aesthetic connotation embodies the cultural "effective history".From the text of Poem Theory of Canglang,it is speculated that the argument of "Enlightenment" is based on "Drawback in Poetic Field of Jiangxi",the theoretical motive is "Analyzing Poetic Metaphorically with Chan" and the aesthetic ideal is "Imitating the Poetry of the Glorious Tang Dynasty".The second chapter of this thesis aims to analyze its aesthetic connotation through the structural system of "Enlightenment".First of all, another core theory of Poem Theory of Canglang— "inspired feeling" is regarded as the ontology of "Enlightenment",which embodies the advanced standards and aesthetic pursuit of Yan Yu’s poetry ideal;Secondly, intuition,is seen as the the fundamental method of "Enlightenment",and as a unique form of art,it has a close relationship among poetry;moreover, artistic conception is taken as the final aesthetic effect to achieve "Enlightenment".The artistic conception is divided into real and virtual environment, which all embody the pursuit of "Enlightenment".The third chapter of this thesis goes into the analysis of the philosophical basis of "Enlightenment",compares the cognitive logic of it with the logical structure and cognitive way of Chinese traditional culture, and then gets the influence among Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,as well as on the "Enlightenment".Through the comparison between Zen and poem enlightenment,it is said that poem enlightenment is not the same as that of Zenenlightenment. The fourth chapter of this thesis systematically combs the influence of "Enlightenment" on poetics and its subsequent development. From the reaction of the times of "Enlightenment",it is divided into the influence of contemporary times and later on the influence of the dynasties. In addition,"Enlightenment" still plays a constructive role in the later theories, even a significant leading role in poetry and other arts.
