Misreading Of Contemporary Visual Art

The misreading of deconstructivism has significant influence on the western critical theories.The intensive research on the misreading would help to understand the traditional reading experience from another point of view.This misreading is both subversive and creative that could instruct the audience to focus on the new meaning created by the extension and expansion of misreading.In this paper,the theoretical research of misreading would be applied in the field of art,especially in the field of contemporary visual art history to study misreading phenomenon.There are contextual relationship among art styles,art schools and art works of various kinds in the visual art history.The study of art misreading,different from the study literature misreading,is to research on the specific situations of misreading in the art field through analogy analysis,art case analysis,historical data arrangement and other methods.First,as the origin of misreading theoretical study,literature misreading is fundamentally different from art misreading: literature misreading happens in text reading activities,while art misreading happens in visual observation.There are differences in the process of misreading activities.Art misreading lacks unity in the process of development.Through understanding the argument by Clifford Geertz that there are different meaning structures in human culture,it is found that there are more than three different levels with increasing complexity in art misreading activities.The medium used by misreading is different but sometimes overlapped in different aspects of art field,such as art creation,art criticism/theory/history and art appreciation.The influence of misreading in different aspects is different,so are the proportion and nature.This could be illustrated by the typical cases of American Abstract Expressionism,Chinese modern and traditional calligraphy and etc.to interpret the misreading phenomenon.To analyze the interaction of misleading in these typical cases would help to demonstrate the specific occurrence of art misreading phenomenon.The controversial issues caused by the conflicts between context differences and background similarities could be understood in case studies.The stable and instable factors that have impacts onthe process of art misreading taking effects could be discovered through research.This could help to demonstrate the universality and necessity of art misreading.The analysis and research methods used in these cases studies are referential that could be used in the other art-misreading phenomenon in the art field.The research on the origin,differences,different structure,different aspects of art misreading will help to understand the complicated art phenomenon and evaluate the quality of art works.We should differentiate imitation behaviors from the valuable methods of references,in order to view the development of contemporary visual art history in a more clear and developing perspective.
