China has been in good relations with Thailand, and the two countries have increasely deepened their economic and culture exchange in the background of the Belt and Road Initialtive.Chinese teaching, which is an important way to communication, has laid a solid foundation for culture exchange. This paper takes high school students from Chinse major in a middle school in Bankok as object of study, and examins the strategies Thai students have used in Chinese class in Thailand when they have face conflicts with Chinese teachers by questionnaire survey based on ‘Face-Negociation' Theory(S.Ting-Toomey),and combining teacher-student interactions. And on this basis, the paper analyses cultural factors behind different strategies with Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory(2001).According to the combine of quantitive and qualitative methord,we find out that Thai students prefer to use face-avoidance acts and face-considering all-round acts, which is related to high power distance, individualism, lower masculinity and high uncertainty avoidance in Thai culture. However, students behave contradictorily as a result of accepting western educational concept. Therefore,as a Chinese teacher faced with multicultural factors in Thailand,we should not only understand the reason behind, but also learn about thai educational concept and shorten time for adaption in order that we can rapidly suit teaching environment and reduce cultural conflicts, establishing harmonious teacher-student relationships and improving Chinese learning efficiency,to nurture many more overseas Chinese teachers for the Belt and Road initiative.
