In recent years,the never-ending changes of technology for mobile communication enables learning anytime and anywhere.Compared with the traditional E-learning,mobile learning has aroused researchers' great interst due to its high mobility and flexibility.What's more,it offers learners the possibility to obtain magnanimous internet resources,and the quality of mobile learning resource directly affects the learners' learning efficiency.Therefore,it is of crucial significance to develop various effective mobile learning resources.Mobile English learning is the hybrid of E-learning and mobile device-assisted English learning.At present,the research on mobile foreign language learning mainly focuses on the development of distance education resources and the construction of software platforms.Moreover,much attention has been paid to the investigation into the learning models and learning strategies,but less to the study on a certain group of subjects in the mobile environment.Therefore,this paper,taking Chinese college students as the research subjects,is aimed at investigating their attitudes,preferences and learning behaviors toward mobile English learning,by adopting the methods of questionnaire survey and interview.The research findings show that college students pervasively held the positive attitude towards mobile English learning;Mobile English learning resources possess the features of logicality,scientificity and integrity;Smart phones are the most widely used mobile device in mobile English learning.Most students adopt mobile learning to pass English tests;fewer to enrich their mind,prepare for the further study;expenses,teachers' and students' recommendations are the main influencing factors for mobile English learning resources selection;Youdao Dictionary,PowerWord,BaiCiZhan and ShanBei Listening are the most widely used mobile English learning Apps;English high achievers have their own learning strategies and methodes,but low achievers demonstrate the inactive learning style,irregular learning habit and behaviors.The study also identified the following problems in English mobile learning: the simple purpose of mobile English learning,lack of creativity in learning resources,the cost of learning resources after,and imperfect feedback system.Three suggestions are proposed based on the research results.(1)to establish perfect feedback system,and improve the interestingness,systematicness and situationality of learning resources;(2)to develop interactive platforms for teachers and students in order to enhance teachers' participation by providing valid help for college students in English learning;(3)to cultivate college students' effective learning behavior,learning attitudes and construct their long-time learning awareness.
