Sampling Study On The National Language In Uyghur Of Aksu Prefecture

With the promotion of Putonghua,research on its using status in ethnic minority areas is becoming a hot issue in recent years.Aksu Prefecture,with 80% Uyghur population,is located on the border between the south and the north of XinJiang.Because of its special social environment and the economic and cultural characteristics,the use of mandarin in this area has its particularity.With the method of field investigation,we compare and analyze the selected 352 Uyghur people of right age,and explore the influences of six elements(home address,gender,age,migration,occupation and education level)on five aspects,which are the linguistic competence,language using status in different situations,limits of language learning,language attitude and writing ability of the Uyghur in Aksu.We try to give an objective description of National Language use in Aksu and find the reasons and difficulties that influence the use of Putonghua in this area.Based on the speculative knowledge and the collected data,we also put forward targeted measures,hoping to provide data and references for bilingual education and language planning in Xinjiang.
