A good landscape painting is the subtle state of "the reach beyond the rhythm,and the meaning beyond the message",which comes from the merge between the sentiment of the painter's objective live and the subjective scenery.This artistic state is the resonance of the visual aesthetic and the sentiment from the appreciators,the profound connotation which we read out from the finite natural scenery,and the artistic conception that has been expressed from the landscape painting.This article is theoretically based on the "artistic conception" in Chinese traditional aesthetic ideology,and has paid more attention on the comprehensive interpretation of the aspects from the theoretic bases to the painting practice.By case studying the landscape watercolor painting of contemporary painter,Zhang Hongliang,and combining the studying and painting experience of the author,this article researched the creation of artistic conception of the watercolor paintingIn Chapter 1,the author articulated the origination of landscape watercolor painting and Chinese "artistic conception",and clarified the background,content,and approach of the research.Chapter 2 proposed that the generation of the artistic conception in the landscape watercolor painting is a process,from the “substance”(imagery)on the surface level,to the “spirit”(the reach beyond the rhythm)on the deep level,and then,to the artistic conception of the metaphysical level.This chapter also analyzed the beauty of artistic conception,the main feature of contemporary Chinese landscape watercolor painting.Chapter 3 analyzed the cause for the generation of the aesthetic of the artistic conception in Chinese landscape watercolor painting,and from two aspects,substance and spirit,explained how the mutual relationship between nihility and reality has been utilized by the landscape watercolor painting to create the artistic conception.From the substance side,the author detailly analyzed the physical form of the painting,such as composition,color,formal language and brush.From the spirit side,the author tried to construct a relation between the self-cultivation of the painter and the aesthetic association of the viewer from the perspective of aesthetic.Moreover,Zhang Hongliang's landscape watercolor painting is studied as a case to demonstrate the realization of thebeauty of artistic conception.By studying Zhang Hongliang's work of watercolor painting,Chapter 4 explored the feature of the artistic language in Zhang Hongliang's watercolor painting from the angle of its utilizing of composition,color,and water.Chapter 5 detailly analyzed the work of Zhang Hongliang.By the exploration of both practices and theories,the author tried to further explain how painters create the Chinese watercolor painting which contains unique interest and endless charm from the starting point of the ontic language of watercolor.Chapter 6 discussed the artistic conception's influence to the contemporary landscape watercolor painting and the inspiration to individual creation from Zhang Hongliang's art of landscape watercolor painting.Integrating the fruitful spiritual culture element form our own nation to landscape watercolor painting is a way to promote the national humanistic connotation in the art of Chinese landscape watercolor painting.We should solidify and develop the unique style of our own,and construct the artistic altitude with Chinese watercolor painting.
