Research On Illustration Design For Lingnan Folklore Festivals

Lingnan Folklore Festival is one organic part of the long and splendid Chinese culture.Its geographical location and overall development have jointly created the regional characteristics of Lingnan,south of the Five Ridges in China.By deeply digging cultural connotation behind Polo Birth Temple Fair,one activity in Lingnan Folklore Festival,this thesis attempts to interpret its specific visual elements,conduct researches on illustration designs,reproduce unique visual language of Lingnan art via graphic carrier,cultivate a new culture featuring the characteristics of both local Lingnan and the modern time,and carry forward the connotation and value of Lingnan Folklore Festival culture.In addition,it is also a meaningful attempt and exploration to express folk festivals in the form of illustration during this research.The experience and final results attained in this research will also be borrowed in theoretical research and innovative design research on the combination of traditional elements and illustration designs.
