Liberalism And Communitarianism

Among the many controversies in contemporary political philosophy,one of the most striking debates is the dispute of "liberalism-communitarianism",both argue about the relationship between justice and goodness.Communitarianism,represented by Sandel,emphasizes the priority of goodness and virtue.Liberalism,represented by Rawls,emphasizes the priority of justice and individual rights.This paper mainly show the focus of freedom and community debate based on the dispute of Sandel and Rawls,and extract the theoretical essence of communitarianism represented by Sandel.This paper is divided into four parts,progressive layers,first from the theoretical origin and Communitarianism thought justice view,the characters and the thought of Sandel on behalf of the communitarianism pursuit and the similarities and differences between the main characteristics,followed by a critique of Sandel Rawls' s transcendental self concept is discussed,and on the basis of this form of the basic position of the self Sandel.And discusses the criticism of Sandel Rawls just prior to the good ideas in the fatal defect of theory,reveals the inherent contradictions of liberalism standpoint and difference principle.Sandel proposed that justice is good,citizens should actively participate in politics,countries must undertake a series of communitarianism advocates moral responsibility of citizens and focus;Sandel finally to liberalism and Communitarianism's views were summarized,and briefly discusses its Realistic Inspiration Significance.
