The Research Of The Putative Treatises Of Xun Zi

Since Liu Xiang annotated,checked and interpreted Xun Qing Xin Shu in the Western Han Dynasty,the works of Xun Zi has been assembled into a book.Yang Jing from Tang Dynasty made Xun Qing Xin Shu reorganized systematically for the second time.After that,Xun Qing Xin Shu was renamed as Xun Zi.Because of the limit of historical documents and the barrier of archaic words,Xun Zi has still remained a number of questions that required to be answered in today’s research.Among them,the authenticity of the chapters of Xun Zi has been concerned controversial in academe.For example,Fu,a part of the text from Xun Zi,has coincided emerged with Jian Jie Shi Chen(a chapter of Han Feizi)in Zhan Guo Ce at the same time,which makes the author of Xun Zi’s letter controversial.But if we combine Xun Zi’s life,the relationship of Xun Zi and his student Han Feizi,and the phonetic change of “ke” “qing” at the social background of Keqing system,it can be inferred that Xun Zi is the author of the letter,which will also serve as an evidence for the authenticity of Fu.Additionally,some scholars believe that the fable “Dong Ye Jia Che” in Ai Gong(a chapter of Xun Zi)is copied from Da Sheng(a chapter of Zhuang Zi).But by comparing with the key figures of the fable in every related texts,a conclusion can be drew that Ai Gong is a more reliable version than Da Sheng.For the reason that there are few amounts to quote the Yi in Xun Zi,it is no wonder that Da Lue,one of the chapters of Xun Zi,cited Yi,was considered as the forgery.After researching the relationship among Xun Zi and Yi,Yi and Li,and the detailed analysis of the text itself,it can be deduced that Da Lue belongs to the ideological system of Xun Zi.By analyzing the creative time and author of Fu,Ai Gong and Da Lue,can let us have a restricted view to the tendency of the present conditions and the development of suspected texts of Xun Zi,and lay the foundation for the further study of Xun Zi as well.
