Kazuo Ishiguro depicts a travel that a couple try to find their memories in The Buried Giant to show the strong representation of deconstruction theory.The novel fully embodies the disadvantaged position how to subvert the hegemonism,and thus a harmonious relationship with the hegemony in the binary opposition society.Ishiguro shows great sympathy for disadvantaged groups,so he pays more attention to the promotion of awareness of harmonious relationship.This article will analyze the novel The Buried Giant from the perspective of deconstruction in order to enrich and expand the researches on Kazuo Ishiguro's works.Focusing on analyzing the novel The Buried Giant from the perspective of deconstruction,the thesis includes the following parts: firstly,it gives an introduction to Ishiguro's biography and his works,and analyses some main works of Ishiguro,and grasps the characteristics and understands his tendency of his writing and gives a detailed introduction to the plot of The Buried Giant.Then it talks about the research status and previous findings of Ishiguro's works,mainly summarizes research status at home and abroad.In the following chapter,it mainly explains the definition,characteristics and development track of deconstruction,and focuses on the definition,characteristics,application and influence of binary opposition of texts in deconstruction.In the main parts of this thesis,Ishiguro reveals three binary oppositions: men and women,people from different social status and age,and human and nature.In the novel,Ishiguro overthrows the stereotype of women and the lower class,then deconstructs men and women,the higher class and the lower class,and human and nature,and thus subverts patriarchal hegemony ideology and hierarchy society.Finally,he reconstructs a harmonious relationship.Finally,this thesis shows a conclusion of the whole paper,talking about some limitations of the paper and making suggestions on future research.By exploring the deconstruction consciousness in The Buried Giant,it is revealed that in the context of binary opposition,men and women,the strong and the weak continue to break through men and the strong as the center,and in order to achieve a harmonious relationship,and pursue a truly fair society.
