The Buried Giant,a representative work written by the Nobel Prize winner Kazuo Ishisuro,has great practical significance for the development of contemporary globalization from the international writing perspective.In The Buried Giant,the word "destiny" runs through the whole text,which not only reflects the author's concern and thinking about the destiny of individuals and nations,but also illustrates his reflection on the common destiny of human beings.Therefore,focusing on destiny,this thesis is about to analyze the theme of destiny in The Buried Giant in order to enrich and expand the researches on Kazuo Ishiguro's works.This thesis makes a brief summary and analysis of the author,his works,related researches at home and abroad,and the term and theme of destiny.The writing of individual destiny reflects the different destiny under different races,regions and identities.Through the redemption destiny of the Briton nation and the revenge destiny of the Saxon nation,the author reveals the contemporary problems of hunan survival,development and peace.The addition of several religious factors—Christianity,polytheism of pagan and sorcery enriches the plot of this novel and influences the development direction of individual and national destiny.Through the analysis of the theme of destiny,this thesis expresses the author's humanitarian ideology and emphasizes the humanistic care and moral requirements for building a harmonious society in today's world,which is more conducive to human self-reflection and better self-development.
