On The Popularization And Promotion Of Line Dance In Sports Cultural Activities In City Squares

As a newly developed recreation and body-building activity,line dance has attracted people from varied age groups,genders and races.Line dance should integrate with sports cultural activities in squares to enrich present sports activities and enhance extensive mass fitness programs nationwide.To find out the necessity and feasibility of popularization of line dance,the research takes line dance as the study object,adopting document literature method,questionnaire method,interviewing method and logical analysis method.The empirical study of line dance in Nantong City not only reveals present situation and constraints but also points out solutions and suggestions.The research findings are as follows:1.With the advantages of body-shaping and mind-strengthening,line dance satisfies the needs of people who attend square sports activities.In addition,line dance plays a positive role in enhancing sports culture in city squares,maintaining social stability and catering to the policy of “National Fitness”.Therefore,it's necessary to popularize line dance.2.The characteristics of line dance make it a suitable square sporting event to be generalized in sports cultural activities in city squares.3.The findings of the empirical study show that people have been doing line dance in squares of Nantong City under the guidance of dance teachers.Formal line dance organizations carry out activities at regular intervals.Therefore,popularizing line dance is feasible.4.Constraints in line dance: the involvement of male dancers is not common.The exercisers lack of understanding of line dance.Lack of fund,qualified coaches and facilities also restrict the promotion of line dance.Solutions to constraints:Firstly,line dance should be supported by relevant departments of the government.Secondly,line dance could be promoted through different platforms,such as utilization of the Internet and traditional media,cooperation with businesses and implement of competition and performance.Thirdly,standardize the assessment criterion of judges and coaches as well as cultivate qualified teachers for different target groups.Finally,create line dance with Chinese characteristics to help better promote this sports activity.
