Research On The Application Of Traditional Craft In Modern Design

The traditional Chinese handicrafts are important parts of the traditional culture which has a long history.They are rich in variety and skill,and also are the spiritual wealth of Chinese descendant.Along with the development of society,the traditional handicraftshave run through our life all the time.However,with the changing of times,and the development of science and technology,their situation are notoptimistic now.In order to make better inheritance and development,we are committed to make modern design,so that the"old elements"can glow with a new style,and shine with an unique charm of ancient oriental culture.We devote ourselves to make the old to be new,and to create new design with not only a connotation of traditional Chinese culture,but also meeting the needs of modern aesthetic.This paper begins with ananalysis of the relationship between the traditional handicrafts and the modern design,focusing on three parts:how to make inheritance and innovation;how to expand the application field,and how to develop harmoniously with social encironment.Then,it will make a condusion of the feasible way of inheritance.At last,it will make a study of the way of combination,the technique of expression,and the application of design between the traditional handicrafts and the modern design.
