The line is the foundation of the traditional Chinese painting,from the decorative patterns in the primitive social life apparatus,to the early Chinese character system "Oracle",from the mural of the Mogao Grottoes to the Wu Daozhi line drawing,from Li Gonglin's line painting to Chen Hongshou's figure line drawing,the line has been undertaking the Chinese painting passing emotions' task.However,since the founding of new China,especially the Reform and Opening up,with the introduction of Western art ideas,a lots of Chinese artists turn creative and research to the form,color and other directions,and recent years rise of the performance of certain strong thinking,such as “modern Freehand brushwork”,“modern No bone painting”.the tendency devicate from the traditional Chinese painting focus to line,“according to modeling transmit the spirit”artistic features.In the point of the Chinese painting beginner,I have made many necessary investigations to tradition Chinese painting,especially the works of Chinese painting line based and related painters,then multi-part discourse the importance of the line in traditional Chinese painting to the relevant historical materials and seen art works by myself as far as possible.Because the line drawing is a profound drawing technique,some simple conclusions of mine through the theoretical,the conclusions contact my usual line drawing and creating,in order to test the true knowledge of traditional Chinese painting in practice.Predecessors' discussions on the line,often put lines and the Meticulous painting fill colour classified as one type,but the highest standard of Chinese painting is “vitality and essence as natural”,whether Freehand brushwork or Meticulous painting,excellent Chinese painting must have fine lines,ancient painters for the line drawing,has a profound sentiment and experience,fusion the Chinese traditional culture,take the unique atmosphere of Chinese painting to each line,so that a simple line to give more Connotation.
