A Study On Luo Niansheng And The Ancient Greek History In China

Mr.Luo Niansheng was a great translator and writer in China.His achievements were mainly focused on the translation and introduction of tragedies and comedies in ancient Greece.Scholars in China have highly evaluated his research achievements in the field of literature.In fact,his translation work and research also contributes greatly to the study of Chinese ancient Greek history.It's said that literary and history is not divided.And Luo was also involved in the translation of ancient Greek religious mythology,ancient Greek political system,legal system,education and other aspects of knowledge and research.His interpretation of the relevant knowledge and the textual research on the characters,places and proper nouns have a lot of enlightenment to the scholars who study ancient Greek history.Therefore,this paper tries to stan the historical point of view,based on the historical materials of the complete works of Luo Niansheng,to comb and summarize the research achievements of Luo's study on the history of ancient Greece and its impetus to the study of the history of ancient Greece.Mr.Luo Niansheng had no special historical writings,but his translation often embodied the simple historical concept that history could serve as a reference.And the history of the ancient Greeks can inspire the Chinese people.In his notes for Greek dramas,he showed the full picture of the ancient Greek religion,including the fable of the mythical heroes and gods,the ceremonies and sacrifices of different gods,the intricate relationships among the gods and the piety of the ancient Greeks.He examined the geographical position and name change of many historical relics in Homer's epic and dramatic works,and studied the democratic system and the legal system of their age mainly by the three great tragedies of ancient Greece.When he added annotations to the epic and tragic works,he studied the issues related to the war of the hippos and the Troy war,and also paid attention to the public thought that appeared in various historical materials.In addition,he also studied the education problems in ancient Greece,mainly investigating the education mode and military physical training of ancient Greece,especially Athens city.Historical thought and research which Niansheng was scattered in the translation works in the annotation,become more valuable in the new historical perspective.Sincetwentieth Century,historiography is no longer confined to political history and military history.It has been extended to social life history,cultural history and ideological history.And the annotated work made by Luo Nansheng on the ancient Greek drama has solved the problems of ancient Greek culture history and social life history.It fills many blank areas in the study of Chinese ancient Greek history.A large number of translations and works also provide great impetus for researchers in ancient Greek history.In addition,the ancient Greek-Chinese dictionary,written by Luo Niansheng and Jian Fu,has the etymology,social and historical background of the ancient Greek words and the meaning of the original meaning as far as possible.Its publication not only fills a big gap in Chinese dictionary,but also makes Chinese ancient Greek history researchers have a reliable tool for learning ancient Greek language.This paper hopes to sum up Luo Niansheng's historical concept and his contribution to the study of Chinese ancient Greek history through a summary of his achievements,and to dig his academic achievements in the new historical perspective to study the special significance of the ancient Greek history from the different perspectives of the macro and micro aspects.
