The Study Of Modal Particles In Gaocheng Dialect Of Hebei

The abundant modal particles is an important feature of Chinese grammar,Dialectal modal particles is a hot topic in the study of Chinese Dialects.Although some achievements have been made in the study of the Hebei dialect,it is not enough for the singal dialect.This article aims to study the modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect,take the descriptive and comparitive method,and from the synchronic angle,we wil give a detailed description and analysis on modal meaning and syntactic function of the modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect.In addition to the introduction,this paper consists of four parts.The first part is the classification description of the modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect.The article which based on the grammar position and the modal meaning in the sentence,divides the modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect into two categories:first of all,according to the syntactic distribution,the modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect is divided into modal particle in the middle and the modal particle at the end.What's more,the quantity of the modal particle in the middle is seven,they are“?₂”“?”“?₁”“?”“?₃”,and their usage and function are descriped in detail;then refering to the classification of the modal particles in the Suzhou dialect by Li Xiaofan,combined with the characteristics of the modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect,dividing the modal particle at the end in the Gaocheng dialect into condition modal particle,which includes five words:“?₁”“?₁”“?₂”“?₂”“?₂”,mood modal particle,which includes thirteen words:“?₂”?“?₂”?“?₃”“?₃”“?₁”“?”“?₃”“?”“?”“?”“?”“?”“??”,and query modal particle,which includes four words:“?₂”“?”“?₄”“?”,furthermore,the usage,function and meaning of all the words are analyzed and described in detail.The second part discusses the modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect which are used together.On the basis of Zhu Dexi's analysis of the combination of the modal particles and the situation of the modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect,we divide the collocation into four cases:the combination condition modal particle with mood modal particle;the combination condition modal particle with query modal particle;the combination mood modal particle with mood modal particle;the combination mood modal particle with query modal particle,what's more,we make detailed description and analysis on all the conditions.The third part investigates the function of the modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect,this chapter summarizes the function of the modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect,including meaning-expression function,sentence-completion function and textual function.The fourth part summarizes some characteristics of modal particles in the Gaocheng dialect.For example,there are many modal particles at the end,the quantity of,the mood modal particle is thirteen.It is common for the modal particles to be used together.And some modal particles have the sentence-completion function.
