Research On The Theme Of Flowers In The Creation Of Contemporary Chinese Female Oil Painters

Flower is a gift of nature,flower is a symbol of beauty,and flower is the cycle of life.There are inextricable links between flowers and women.More and more female painters express their emotions via the media of flower,and re-interpret the image of flower.Different life background and aesthetic tendency of them result in different artistic ideas when they interpret the theme of flowers.Some of them seek the obscure poetry,some seek personality,while some seek the longing for nature.They convey artistic ideas to the viewer in a unique way.Art is their relentless pursuit.They use their wisdom to process the image of flower with variation,which enables art works to construct a new aesthetic standards of painting,to convey the female thinking more authentically,and to improve the art of female.During the process of art creation,contemporary Chinese female painters have formed an unique aesthetic characteristics in the aspects of aesthetic concept,representation form,internal emotion,etc.This paper will make a systematic analysis of this argument in four chapters:The first chapter overviews the development of the western painting on the theme of flowers,and introduces the similarity between the natural feature of flower and the physiology and psychology of women so as to explain why female painters have a special liking for flowers.Besides,the artistic achievements of contemporary female painting will be illustrated by the flower works of the world famous American painter O'Keeffe.The second chapter is the core of this paper.It introduces the performance of contemporary Chinese female painters on the theme of flower from the perspective of individual women,emotional oriental complex and the privacy of emotional expression.It analyzes the external manifestation form as well as the inner spirit and emotion of flower paintings based on the works of Lei Shuang,Mu Xi and Cai Jin.The third chapter introduces the self-pursuit creation idea of contemporary Chinese female painters via the works of Xia Junna,and illustrates their innovative artistic style via the works of Yan Ping.Besides,it also makes an analysis of the self consciousness of female artists in the process of creation as well as their inheritance and innovation of traditional art.Thus the artistic features on the flower theme of Chinese female oil painters are expounded.The fourth chapter expounds on the representation of flower theme in the works of author from the following three aspects:composition,color and space.Besides,the author's creative practice in the course of postgraduate study as well as comprehension on the theme of flower are summarized.In the last part of this paper,the author makes a concise summary of the central argument:the representation of flower theme in the performance of contemporary Chinese female oil painters.
