On The Enlightenment Of Henglimoer's Sculpture Works To Jewelry Design From Oriental Perspective

Henry Moore(1898-1986),a western sculptor in modern times,was one of the most influential artists after World War II.He is adored by the people from all over the world by the virtue of his unique artistic style.His work as a new sculpture language for an era was a dialogue between human nature and nature.His works include modern Western Art,Oriental Art,and Primitive Art,all of which are nourishment of his artistic creation.He combined the aesthetics of East and West and also combines modern art with ancient art and therefore,created a series of famous sculptures on world scale.This thesis explores the traditional Chinese Art ideology from the Henry Moore's works from the perspective of Oriental Art.There are six chapters in this thesis.The first one is the background and objective of this research.The second chapter mainly discusses the formation of Henry Moore's artistic ideology and its similarity with traditional Chinese art culture.The third chapter as the essential of this thesis explores the “Doctrine of yin and yang” in his creating technique;the nature of “the unity of heaven and man”;the “Zen epiphany theory” embodied in his abstract works;and also the similarity between the Henry Moore's sculpture and Chinese freehand sculptures from the perspective of “the pictograph of the object”.Through these aspects,Henry Moore's works has been analyzed from the oriental perspective,reflecting the value of Chinese traditional art and culture.The fourth chapter studies the inspiration of Henry Moore's works on jewelry design and extends the relationship between jewelry and sculpture to reveal the inspiration of Henry Moore's sculpture to jewelry design.The fifth chapter is about the current situation of jewelry industry in China and its future prospects.The last one includes the author's jewelry creation.The article would like to interpret Henry Moore's sculpture from Oriental perspective,aiming to arouse the national consciousness and pride of jewelry designers.The blind pursuit of foreign art has gradually lost our own heart.The domestic designers should pay more attention to the essence of the traditional art and culture of their own country,and design jewelry works with their own cultural characteristics in order to make an approval of Chinese jewelry design works.It is necessary to inherit the essence of traditional art and meet the needs of modern aesthetics for adding the essence of traditional art into jewelry design,which is the projective of my research.For the last record,I hope I can make a difference for the jewelry design industry.
