Under the background of mass art,which is dominated by visual impact,Chinese contemporary art has gradually formed its own artistic language features by imitation,combination,inheritance and further innovation and transformation.After the "85 fashion",the new art movement opened up a single form of art as a political and religious instrument with its diversity and sense of form,as well as clear personal symbols.They pay attention to people's mental state,release human nature,express social,life and self-worth perception,so as to seek social sympathy.China contemporary artists began to reflect the pursuit of individual works in practice,a variety of symbols and formal language will eventually burst their artistic individuality in the picture,so that works with artistic expressive force and unique personal belongs.This paper studies the symbolic phenomenon in the contemporary oil painting in Chinese meaning and value,explore the relationship China contemporary art and China's background and his personal thoughts and feelings,analyze the reasons of "popular symbols" phenomenon in the contemporary oil painting in the China.For me in the future in the art on the road to find their own artistic style to provide ideas,combined with the graduation creation,try to explore the use of symbols in oil painting creation,and eventually formed his own artistic style for the purpose.
