Research On The Graphic Symbol In Zhang Xiaogang's Art Works-"Solemn Rite"

Since the mid-90s of last century, it has been common to make artistic creative with graphic symbols in profiling. Zhang Xiaogang is the representative who is widely noted and studies. The representative works "the Community" is a magnified social module of patriarchal system. The sense of ritual in patriarchal society are more prominent because of the principle of collectivism. Faced with the living state of people in the complex and inescapable specific period of history, Zhang Xiaogang intensifies the sense of ritual into simple and powerful symbols.There are four chapters in discussion. In the first chapter, introduce the knowledge background in cross-culture fields. Give the general definition about graphic symbols and comb the background of personalized graphic symbols of Zhang Xiaogang. In the third chapter, according to"the Community", the master work of Zhang Xiaogang,discuss the sense of ritual and the source in combination of factors in society, politics and culture at that time. In the fourth chapter, illustrate the solemn and quiet atmosphere in the works of Zhang Xiaogang and the influence factors on the atmosphere.
